Ritz Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara Resort

Ritz Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara Travel Photography Blog

A photography opportunity came up in San Ynez this April and I couldn’t wait to sign up. Since spending most of last year cooped up with the Covid situation I was bursting at the seams for travel, adventure, anything to get out of the house.  Not being very familiar with the middle part of the state of California I relied on the internet to find a hotel.  I knew I wanted to be as close to the ocean as possible and decided that Santa Barbara was the place I wanted to stay.  Close to San Ynez but with the ocean, the destination was decided.  So many options to choose from but the Ritz Carlton Bacara kept catching my eye and so happy it did.  I take my hotel choices very seriously. I look at everything, the look of the room, dining options, pool and reviews.  Well the website showed a gorgeous resort and I couldn’t resist since the view i’ve had for the long winter was snow, grey skies, brown grass and no leaves on the trees.  Finally the day arrived, bags packed and on my way.  Landed at the Santa Barbara airport, sooo cute, sooo small and loved the Spanish design.  I was so excited, the hotel wasn’t far from the airport but already my eyes were filled with the beauty of the area.  The drive into the resort took my breath away.   Amazing, simply beautiful the landscape and the hotel stunning.  Right away greeted with a smile and a welcome. A little overdressed with warm clothes from Colorado I couldn’t wait to get checked in and get into shorts.   Check in awesome,  what a wonderful upbeat personality to greet you.  My bags are already on a cart to take me to my room with a handful of awesome information. The driver was also amazing, drove me around the property to get an idea of the resort and made suggestions. the room, you know how it’s shown on the website and usually not what you get well wrong this time i got what i saw in the picture. So pretty, my own balcony, gorgeous decor and steps to the adult pool.  Couldn’t wait  to explore, the hotel sits high on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, pathways all around with beautiful flowers, very well maintained grounds and an unbelievable large pool area that overlooks the ocean, I was in heaven.  The restaurants at the hotel didn’t disappoint either. Angel Oak sits right at the edge overlooking the ocean, food amazing, First Drop great good to go options, the Bistro is by the large pool with ocean views and again great food. The staff at this hotel is exceptional, alway asking if you needed a cart to take you up the hill to a “hi” and I don’t believe the word “no” is in their vocabulary and they remember your name.  This hotel is very high on my recommended list and I would most definitely go back again without hesitation.
