Location Ideas In & Near Aspen Colorado
Downtown Aspen
Beautiful all year around but always on the busy side, is the iconic downtown Aspen. Sitting at 8,000 ft. with loads of history, amazing food, and chic cocktail lounges, downtown is the place to explore. I always suggest two locations for all my engagement sessions and downtown is a must to start or finish our session. Don’t forget a downtown classic change of outfit. Make sure to take a picture on Mill St and Cooper Ave. Looking to propose? One of the most convenient beautiful spots is downtown. Check out one of my favorite engagement sessions where we went all around Downtown Aspen.

Hotels
Hotel Jerome
Aspen’s first hotel and my favorite hotel. Built in 1889 this hotel still holds so much historical greatness that goes perfectly with Kemo Sabe hats. Don’t forget to grab a drink at there iconic bar before your photo session to help calm the nerves.
St. Regis
Located at the base of Aspen mountain, St Regis has a stunning middle courtyard . They host many unique and presentable events on the daily for guests to enjoy. The St. Regis in Aspen has my favorite hotel rooms.
The Little Nell
Aspen’s go-to hotel and residency. Little Nell has its own private terrace on top of Aspen mountain that will literally blow your mountain views away. The terrace is heavily used for weddings and is a must sight-see!
Aspen Meadows
Across the main hwy near the river is this hidden gem with lots of beautiful open land with lawn art around the property.
On top of Aspen Mountain
Open during the summer to drive or gondola or just by gondola in the winter, talk about the most scenic views. Make sure to prepare yourself for higher altitude first.
T Lazy 7 Ranch
Also a beautiful wedding venue, T Lazy 7 Ranch has magical views all year around. In the winter they offer ski mobile rides and snowshoeing. A huge plus on clear sunny days you get to see the peak of Maroon Bells.
Ashcroft Ghost Town
One of my all time favorite locations is near Ashcroft. It is the most private, most breathtaking meadows with colorful wildflowers in June and the most Fall vibrative in late September. A vehicle to this location is a must. It is about 30+ minutes away from downtown Aspen but if you have no means of transportation we can plan ahead for you to grab a ride with me.
Maroon Bells
A few miles past T Lazy 7 Ranch is the iconic Maroon Bells, when it comes to views this has to be #1. Standing over 14,000 feet tall and deep with surrounding aspen trees and the glistening waters of the peaceful alpine lake, it is widely considered Colorado’s most-photographed locations. It is VERY important to keep in mind that reservations are a must to enter the park so make sure to plan ahead for your trip and photography session. Check out more information on Maroon Bells HERE.
Independence Pass
The summit of Independence Pass is located 19 miles east of Aspen and crosses the Continental Divide over the Sawatch Range. It winds through the San Isabel National Forest on the east and White River National Forest on the west side of the Divide. A MUST scenic drive going into or out of Aspen.
Snowmass
An easy 20 min drive outside Aspen is Snowmass – some of the best hiking and summer activities around. Must see hotels to check out are Viewline Resort, Viceroy, and the Limelight. All with amazing views for any type of session.
John Denver Sanctuary
A beautiful park by the river located downtown Aspen behind Hotel Jerome. My favorite spot is on the romantic bridge all year around!
Open Space
Right of the bridge out of town is a cutest open space area. A great spot for a picnic, proposal, or of course a photo session.
